It's a Filipino tradition, that when it's time for New Year you have to have those round things with you. it symbolized luck [round being the money]. you have to wear something with round thing in it and for us my wife always put some fruits on the table to welcome the new year.
a tray of fruits - apples, mangoes, pomegranades, pears, grapes, oranges, bananas, melon, pineapple and etc.
at the bar, waiting for 12:00 midnight to strike.
